Type: Community Starter Workshop

It was a 2 session online workshop using gmeet, around 1 hour each. The sessions covered all curriculum of the starter workskop: sharing tye predentation (why) and how to make ecobrick: both fundamental peinciples and techniques. It was an enjoyable process, lots of questions and fun.

The prep was through chatting on Ig and whasapp. After they received the starter workshop documents, Zahra (the lead teacher) started organising with other teachers and preparing all equipments and materials, including the space-class etc. And everything was ready and complete on the day 1, first session workhop. They also brought their first ecobricks they tried to make before.

After negotiating, we agreed to have 2 sessions with 1 hour each. In the beginning it seemed so short, but we decided to try. Both session started at 12 noon Iranian Time (which is at 4.30 Bali/indonesian time).

Session 1:
1. Google meet was open 5 mins before. Waiting and prep.
2. 5 mins opening and introduction
3. 50 mins presentation and Q& A
4. 10 mins more discussion on what for tomorrow.

Session 2:
Everything and everyone was ready. 2 people will make 1 ecobrick using a 300ml bottle + all materials and equipment.
1. 5 mins: intro
2. 5 mins checking (and explanation)
3. 40 mins ecobrick making: techniques, q & A, zoom in out showing the technique
4. 5 mins about gobrik
5. 5 mins video of short term application
6. Clossing

Each session went about 70 mins.

1. They were so passionate, they have been trying, they reached out the GEA, and were active and responsive in a short oeriod of time. Being keen is the key to learn together.
2. All’s well prepared: following the guidelines.
3. Tho there was a bit internet and connecyion issue, but it didnt bother the process: 3 teachers were attentive and involved in the process, 1 staff helped in any technical issue snd did the documentation. This maked students and process were smooth and enjoyable.
4. Tehy had tried to make ecobricks, so they had experience and many questions.
5. Whole process was fun, everyone was active, confident, happy to try and do their best.
6. They siccessfully made their best first ecobricks
7. Discussion and facilitation are still goin on with some teachers.

1. Technical – internet connection. A few times dropped, but it was not a big issue.
2. Their sticks were not best tool to pack / make ecobricks: some of them used cooking chopsticks 🙂 – but now they learned and knew better idea for the ecobrick sticks

Technical:
1. Sticks
2. The mixed between hard/thick and soth plastic – for the density
3. Keep weighing the bottles in the process
4. Maybe good to sign up gobrik first before doing: joining the workshop
