First Ecobrick Starter Workshop in the Dist of Darjeeling.

Venue – Community Hall, Kalej Valley Tea Garden, Darjeeling Dist, West Bengal, India.

Date – 27th December, 2020

Time: 10am to 4pm.

Organisors: Kalej Valley Rangbull Dooteriah (KVRD)

GEA (Global Ecobrick Alliance) Certified Ecobrick Trainers- Ashim Khawas and Roshni Rai.

Support by – Certified Ecobrickers- Penemith Lepcha, Ruchika Pradhan and Anmol Mukhia.

Session flows:

● The presentation on Plastic, the biosphere & ecobricks was presented by both the trainers with beautiful examples, which was an extremely interactive session with mutual learning for every one involved.

● Guided ecobricking was done for 77 participants, who were divided into 5 groups. Each group was guided by GEA trainers & trained Ecobrickers.

●Home cooked lunch was arranged according to GEA workshop guidelines, which were served in the leaf plates.

● GoBrik account was created and ecobricks were logged by 36 participants. Remaining participants could not make ecobricks due to the scarcity of the segregated plastics.

● 36 ecobricks were made from the household segregated plastics .

● Ecobricker certificates were presented to 36 participants for making their 1st quality ecobrick as per GEA standards.

Total plastics saved from going to the biosphere – 3.240 kg.

Above 36 certified ecobrickers have taken the responsibility of guiding remaining participants to make their ecobrick as per GEA specifications. In the follow-up session, their ecobrick will be reviewed by GEA trainer and after logging their ecobrick in Gobrik account, the ecobricker certificate will be given to them.

We guided them to prepare for the workshop.

All the participants were very receptive and interactive.

All the youths were involved.

There was a scarcity of the segregated plastics to make ecobricks by all the participants.

All are eager to save the planet.
